We will provide you with clear guidance, materials and support throughout so that you can introduce the program in your school and activate a successful campaign.
This program works solely on application: students or schools interested must apply and be selected in order to join.
HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
LEARN AND PREPARE
Learn about the mission, impact, and how the Ambassadors Programme works.
APPLY
Complete the application form and take part in a brief interview.
PRESENT IT AT YOUR SCHOOL
Coordinate an official presentation of the programme with your school.
CREATE IMPACT
Develop activities and campaigns that raise funds and recruit more ambassadors.
Ambassador obligations
- Fundraising: collect a minimum amount equivalent to 10% of the school´s annual tuition (this may vary according to the specific agreement).
- Presentation: Deliver at least one presentation to the school or graduating class.
- Succession: Secure an "heir" within your school and recruit a new Ambassador in a different school.

Kusimayo means “river of happiness” in quechua. We are a non-profit association. Since 2008 we have been working in rural communities in Puno, Peru, changing lives through comprehensive programs that promote health, nutrition, productivity and family welfare.

- Who can apply?: High school students interested in leadership and service
- Do we need the school’s endorsement?: We recommend the support of a teacher and communications coordinator.
- What is the fundraising goal?: Each ambassador is expected to raise a minimum of USD 1,000 during their term. Ambassadors are encouraged to go beyond this and maximize their impact.
- How do I know the money is being used properly?: Kusimayo operates with high standards of transparency and is certified by CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, a multilateral institution that supports and oversees impactful projects across the region. 96% of all funds raised go directly to program implementation, while only 4% covers administrative costs, and the managing partners work on an ad honorem basis. This ensures your contribution is used responsibly and creates real impact.
- How do we register the school’s donation?: By sending an email with a copy of the voucher, the name of the school, the student´s name and membership to the Ambassadors program.
- What materials will I receive?: Pitch deck, communications guide, art for social media and campaign checklist.
- Will I have support?: Yes, you´ll have the initial induction, quarterly reviews and a contact.
- How will the Ambassadors be acknowledged?: With a certificate, a mention on the Kusimayo website and leaderboard.
- Can I continue after graduating?: You can recruit an “heir” and become part of the Alumni volunteer network.
